About
The Chelsea Community Christmas Lunch started off as an idea in 2015 when two local children (5yr and 6 yr old) asked if they could feed the homeless on Christmas Day.
Mum & Dad asked around, and although there was a lot of interest, the closest place to volunteer was in Cheltenham. So the following year, Mum and Dad decided to setup something to support the local Chelsea community. In 2016, local families and businesses, St Joseph’s Parish and Primary School, St Vincent de Paul, Chelsea’s Uniting Church and Chelsea Community Church of Christ came together and started the Chelsea Community Christmas Lunch. |
We were amazed at the support, encouragement and enthusiasm from the local community.
In addition to the generous financial support, we had over 100 volunteers who freely gave their time in the lead up; fund raising, making desserts, organising and wrapping presents and helping on the day to serve and entertain 80 special guests. |
